What you find in my pantry!

Just thought I would do a fun little post on things you find in my pantry.

Organic Coconut Sugar - I now use this in place of real sugar, it is low GI, you won't get that huge insulin spike.  It is not highly processed, has no additives and is all natural.  Coconut Sugar has high mineral content.  It is a rich source of potassium, magnesium, zinc and iron. In addition to this it contains Vitamin B1, B2, B3 and B6.  Much better than real sugar.

Bronze Chief Whole Wheat Flour - Non GMO , no chemicals or synthetics used on their crops and it comes in that wonderful resealable bag.

Californian Extra Virgin Olive Oil - I have read alot about olive oil that's not really olive oil.  Buy  Olive Oil from California, they have strict testing on all their olive oil.

Organic Maple Syrup - Because sometimes you need something to put on those pancakes ;)

Quinoa - Full or protein, no wheat, so versatile.

Great news is I got this all from Walmart Neighborhood market.  Usually walmart is not safe for my health , my blood pressure shoots up as soon as I enter one.  But we got a new neighborhood market and its so quiet and I can get all these wonderful choices at good prices :)

What are staples in your pantry?

Sorry about the "soft" photo, my camera is stuck on the setting and I have no clue how to get it off!

  2. I love my Walmart neighborhood market... it really is quieter than a normal Walmart (especially the one near us, as they don't have their liquor license yet, so there is no alcohol... which makes the crowds smaller) I am interested in the Coconut sugar... intriguing... hmmm

  4. Hey I found you through comment luv on today's SITS featured blogger and thought I'd visit. I'm very curious about Coconut sugar. Does it have a coconut taste to it? Have you been able to bake with it, without any taste issues? I use organic sugar or agave, but I'm curious to the pros and cons of this. Thanks!

  5. Aanika I know you can get it over there as my sister uses it. I can check with her where she gets it if you like?

  6. Thanks food popping over and visiting. So far I have had good luck using it. It is not as sweet as sugar or agave but it doesn't have a coconut taste. Due to its coloring it can make your baked goods look darker than usual. I am enjoying the not so sweet taste especially because I am trying to tame my sweet tongue and take sugar out of my diet as much as possible.

  7. Hey! Like the blog. Newest follower. Found you via Tell me About it Tuesdays. I also am passionate about natural/sustainable living and am trying to do more :) My staples are coconut sugar and sucanant, quinoa, wheat (I mill my own flour from wheat for almost all bread products), Real Salt (a must), oatmeal, and then in the fridge raw milk, kefir, eggs from a local farm, apples (at least this season) and my weakness is ice cream so there HAS to be some of that in my freezer. But I did recently discover Turkey Hill all-natural vanilla with no additives (just cream, sugar, milk, vanilla & vanilla bean) and am a pretty big fan :)
